SMS Text Messaging Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 5, 2026
1. Overview
The North Alabama Homebuilding Academy (“NAHA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) offers a text messaging (SMS) program to communicate with prospective, incoming, and current students of our Go Build HSV residential construction training programs. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through this SMS program, how we use and protect it, and the choices available to you. It applies specifically to our SMS program and supplements any other privacy notices NAHA provides.
2. What This Program Is Used For
Our SMS program is used strictly for program-related, informational communications. We use it to send messages such as:
-
Class and cohort start dates, schedule changes, and reminders
-
Weather-related closures, delays, or safety announcements
-
Other important program updates (for example, location changes, items to bring, or general announcements)
We do not use this program to send marketing, advertising, or promotional messages, and we do not sell, rent, or trade your phone number to anyone.
3. Information We Collect
When you opt in to this SMS program, we collect:
-
Your mobile phone number
-
Your name, if provided at sign-up
-
Your program, cohort, or campus (for example, Huntsville or Guntersville), if applicable
-
The date and method of your consent to receive messages
-
Records related to message delivery and any replies you send us (for example, HELP or STOP requests)
4. How You Join This Program (Consent)
You are enrolled in this SMS program only after you affirmatively opt in — for example, by providing your mobile number on an enrollment or intake form, sign-up sheet, or web form and agreeing to receive text messages from NAHA. Consent to receive text messages is never a condition of enrolling in or participating in any NAHA training program.
5. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on program activity and current events. For example, you may receive more messages around a new cohort start date or during periods of severe weather, and fewer messages at other times.
6. Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply. Charges depend on your mobile carrier and the plan you have with that carrier. NAHA is not responsible for any charges from your wireless carrier.
7. How to Opt Out
You may opt out of this SMS program at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After you reply STOP, we will send one final confirmation message, and you will not receive further text messages from this program unless you opt in again. You may also contact us directly (see Section 12) to be removed.
8. Help
Reply HELP to any message you receive from NAHA for assistance, or contact us directly using the information in Section 12.
9. No Sharing of Your Information for Marketing
NAHA does not share, sell, rent, or otherwise disclose your mobile phone number or your SMS opt-in consent with any third party for that third party’s own marketing or promotional purposes.
10. Other Ways We May Share Information
We may share limited information from this program only:
-
With service providers who operate the text messaging platform on our behalf, solely to deliver messages to you
-
When required to comply with a law, regulation, subpoena, or court order
-
To protect the safety, rights, or property of NAHA, our students, or others
Any service provider we use is contractually limited to using your information only to help operate this program and may not use it for its own purposes.
11. Wireless Carriers
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported carriers may change from time to time without notice.

14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our program or applicable law. The “Effective Date” at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Continued participation in the SMS program after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
